Euclid Beach Park Now

Euclid Beach Park Now is an organization dedicated to preserving the memory of Cleveland, Ohio's most famous amusement park, Euclid Beach Park, which operated from 1895 through 1969.

Our mission is to support the education of the public as to the history of Euclid Beach Park through lectures, exhibits, displays, memorabilia shows, television and radio appearances and any other available form.  We also support the preservation of physical items from Euclid Beach Park that may be owned by other organizations, private individuals, or any other entity.

MEMBERSHIP

If you share an interest in Euclid Beach Park or in old amusement parks you are invited to join Euclid Beach Park Now. Annual dues are $12.00, November 1st to October 31st. Go to the Navigation Bar above and click on "Contact Us."

THE ARCH
The newsletter is named after the main entrance gate to Euclid Beach Park. It is a well-remembered and recognizable icon of the park. Still standing, it is a designated Cleveland landmark.

2008 DISPLAYS/EVENTS/EXHIBITS

Museum of Carousel Art and History
(Merry-Go-Round Museum) Sandusky, Ohio.
The Museum's 2008 exhibit is entitled, "Merry-Go-Memories" and focuses on the personnel connections people have with both the machines and the animals that ride on them. Five horses from the Euclid Beach Park Carrousel on loan from the Western Reserve Historial Society are included in the exhibit. To make the horses feel at home, the display includes some other Euclid Beach Park memorabilia.

Memorial-Nottingham Branch of the Cleveland Public Library
Back in 1998 Euclid Beach Park Now was asked if they were willing to raise funds and have four carrousel horses carved for Euclid Beach's old Carrousel, 1910 Philadelphia Toboggan Company #19. Two of those horses are now on display at the Nottingham Branch of the Cleveland Public Library through August 30, 2008.

Euclid Beach Park Lecture and Slide Show
Thursday, July 17, 2008 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Memorial-Nottingham Branch of the Cleveland Public Library. Speaking will be James Seman, Past President of Euclid Beach Park Now  who worked at the park a few summers as an operator on the Racing Coaster.

Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park
Euclid Beach State Park, Cleveland, Ohio. Sunday September 28, 2008 - 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rain or Shine, Euclid Beach Park will come alive again, for one day only with markers showing where rides and attractions once stood. Original amusement park ride cars and other park memorabilia will be on display. Sponsored by Euclid Beach Park Now and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Cleveland Lakefront. Free Admission.
